Even though at one time I was a little girl, no one could have prepared me for how much fun it is to actually have a little girl. Everyone told me how different girls and boys are, and it's not that I didn't believe them, but everyone was right. They are very different. There is so much more drama, screaming, pretending, and pink in my house. Often I fall asleep with the "Strawberry Shortcake" theme song running on a loop in my head and dreaming about visiting the American Girl store in a few years. There are many more accessories involved with little girls. I've never before had to deal with hair bows and purses and many pairs of shoes. Speaking of shoes, there is a lot of changing shoes lately. Not necessarily her own shoes and not necessarily matching shoes. Cowboy boots, flip flops, crocs, even high heels. I look forward to when she can dress herself and starts to change her clothes fifty times a day. Honestly, I don't really know how I could have gone the rest of my life without a little girl in my life. I can't wait for all the girl-stuff that is coming: slumber parties, gymnastics, braids, make up and anything else she comes up with. I am so very blessed by little girls.
