The 4th of July has always been one of my favorite holidays. I just love America and summer and plus it's really close to my birthday! ;0) When I was a kid we almost always spent Independence Day at our friends, the Jimenez' house. There was always lots of church friends there and we would cook out and swim ALL DAY! It was so much fun! There is nothing like the feeling when evening comes and you change out of your swimsuit and back into your warm, comfy clothes. Your exhausted and sunburned...but in a good way! And then it's time for fireworks. Everybody piles into each other's cars and we drive to our secret spot behind the mall that nobody else knew about for a really long time!! We would Oooo and Aaaaahhh over the fireworks, laughing and joking with one another. Those were some of the best memories of my childhood.
Today my kids did go swimming, in a MUCH smaller pool ;0) But they had an absolute blast! I can only hope that they can have even half as much fun as I did when I was a kid.
